PRODUCT ENGINEERING
We provide mechanical design, stress analysis, design for manufacturability, and material selection services using advanced software when necessary.
We evaluate product functionality, structural integrity, wear resistance, and manufacturability. The depth of our professional engineering experience and software capabilities enables us to adapt to unique project requirements.
Our extensive product engineering experience in manufacturing processes includes plastic injection molding, thermoforming, plastic and aluminum extrusion, machining, metal stamping, metal casting, drawing, four-slide and other manufacturing processes.
Key Strengths:
- Mechanical Design
- Engineering for Manufacturability
- FEA for Structural & Thermal Analysis
- Value Engineering

MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
Our engineers design parts and mechanisms for smooth functionality and mechanical strength, and for manufacturability. From the smallest consumer devices to public utility size solar installations, Raytech’s engineers have the training and experience to handle complex functional, mechanical, and structural design constraints.
FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS
We use FEA to assist with mechanical development and material choice. We use computer models to predict the stresses and deflections of a product during normal usage and under extreme conditions.
We provide structural analysis, buckling, thermal, and wind load analysis using simulation as well as mathematical calculations to verify results. Our ability to predict and/or understand the results of field testing often helps to accelerate the design and testing phases of a project.
STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING
Our mechanical engineering experience provides structural engineering expertise for large mechanisms and structures. Creative design and careful analysis are used to develop efficient, safe and durable equipment. Using a combination of standard engineering calculations and computer aided analysis applied to the relevant codes and regulations. We balance a structure’s load and operating requirements with cost effectiveness and manufacturability.
DESIGN FOR MANUFACTURING
Design for manufacturability is the meat of the design process. We work together to develop products that meet industrial design, mechanical, and manufacturability requirements. We design the manufacturing process features into the parts to provide products’ manufacturers designs that do not need to be changed to be manufactured—mitigating the risk of tool designers implementing changes that may impact the functionality of products in order to make them work.
Everyone has at least one great idea. Very few people get to see their ideas come to life. We can help.
Product design is a difficult process that takes patience and expertise. Needs must be identified, specifics have to be defined, and most of all, the idea has to be real. If you have a great, new invention, that’s a great first step to any new product. The next step is to get it to work every time. Making things work is what Orion engineers excel at.
If you have a small business that needs custom automation, or a problem that needs fixing, or a brand new idea for something great, use our contact form and tell us about it. Don’t worry, it will always be yours. We just want to make it come to life.
